About Eagle Telephone System

Eagle started as a small rural independant telephone company providing local service to the Richland area under the management of Babe Alexander and his wife Evelyn using party lines as a form of communications.

In 1973, Robert and Lillian Lattin purchased the company from Evelyn and began providing service under their direction. When Robert and Lillian started running the company they originally had 14 party lines served with an open wire aerial service.

In 1976 the system was upgraded to direct dialing, thus eliminating the party line form of communications. Under Robert's direction, the company expanded their services to New Bridge, Sparta and eventually to the remote areas of Eagle Creek.
